Training session with local actors in municipality of Suhareka
20 Qershor 2024
Pristina Institute for Political Studies (PIPS) organized a training session on the Green Agenda and the Role of Civil Society. This event was part of the European Union's cross-border cooperation program IPA II ALBANIA - KOSOVO (2014 - 2020) - "The Road to Efficient Local Use of Natural Resources." The training brought together representatives of local civil society and municipal officials. We had the pleasure of having Mrs. Rinora Gojani as a panelist and contributor on the topic.
Her contribution included several key training points:
- Decarbonization: Kosovo's road to decarbonization, investments in renewable energy sources, and the importance of transitioning Kosovo A and B from lignite to clean energy.
- Circular Economy: The importance of recycling ♻, raising citizen awareness on the circular economy, and the significance of a legal framework for the circular economy.
- Sustainable Agriculture and Food: Promoting the consumption of local food, addressing the impact of animal waste on land, and encouraging investment in renewable resources through agricultural schemes.
- Biodiversity: Developing a long-term strategy to halt biodiversity loss, implementing plans for the protection and restoration of biodiversity, and the importance of nature-based solutions and adaptation to natural changes.
- Role of Civil Society: Involvement in monitoring and campaigns to increase awareness of the Green Agenda through informal education, and enhancing participation in policy-making.
The project is implemented by ASP in cooperation with Pristina Institute for Political Studies PIPS and the municipalities of Kurbin and Suharekë, thanks to the support of IPA II European Union Cross-border programme Albania – Kosovo, 3th call for application.
